Addison at 5'5", is short for her age. She has dark brown, almond shaped eyes and dark brown hair that barely falls to her shoulders. Her hair is unruly and uneven, moreso now that Addison has to chop it off herself when it grows much too long. She has a tiny, slender frame and is naturally quick - a trait that is incredibly useful when she fights. She is only slightly muscled but prefers to keep it hidden underneath long sleeves and baggy shirts. Addison hunches often and now that she is travelling, wears clothes that are as inconspicuous as possible. Sometimes, she even goes as far as to pretend that she is a boy to avoid the attention of other men.

She would gladly pretend to be a boy all the time but her delicate features prevent her from doing so. She has steadily come to learn that if there's anything that is more noticeable than a beautiful woman, it's an effeminate boy. After several disastrous events, though, she now only pretends to be a boy when absolutely necessary.

Addison has a button nose and abhors any jewelry. Her skin is fair but being on the road for so long has taken its effect and her skin now has a healthy glow to it. Addison, at a first glance, seems to be only a little underfed but otherwise normal. The only way to tell that she is a fighter is by the agility with which she moves. However, if she ever pushes up her sleeves, the bruising on her forearms is visible. Addison's training never quite came to a suitable end and so, she improvises. In a fighting form where there is to be no blocking, Addison blocks when she has to.

Addison has always been healthy but her current living conditions have made her seem even smaller than she already was. In addition to malnutrition, now that Addison's powers have been surfacing for over two years now, she seems permanently tired and has dark circles underneath her eyes. Addison is light on her feet, quick even in everyday tasks and resilient against extreme climates.

Personality:
Addison, while travelling, is noncommittal about revealing anything about herself and even keeps her usual non-verbal cues in check. She is extremely aware of everything she does and everything people around her do. She is alert and inconspicuous about it, a quality that comes in handy especially when fighting. Addison is both intelligent and a hard-worker and has a sense of humor. Even though she is by no means a cheery person, she is light-hearted and headstrong. She takes things in stride and is generally unyielding. Addison is well-trained in the art of focusing herself and is not easily distracted. She is good at being surreptitious and can easily scope an entire room without being too obvious.

Addison is naturally caring of little children as they remind her of her younger brother. She is sympathetic when it comes to people who have suffered hardships. Addison is extremely distrusting of most men and is not easily fooled by anyone.

Addison has always had sound morals and does not let them go. As a child, she mostly brought them into play to keep her parents happy but they have now become a reflex of sorts. She aims for pressure points while fighting, never lethally harming anyone. She also tries her hardest to block out other people's thoughts as she is not comfortable with invading other people's privacy. She is not easily impressed and always makes it clear when she does not respect someone. She does not believe in lulling people into a false sense of security and will make her feelings about someone clear, if she senses even the slightest of misunderstandings.

Addison is brave, but not in the traditional way. She is brave in the sense that she refuses to let anything get the better of her. She refuses to let anyone get a rise out of her, she clamps down on her fears even if they threaten to virtually paralyze her. Addison is also skilled at compartmentalizing, using it as a distraction technique when she feels that everything is becoming a bit too hopeless for her to handle. Addison does not give up easy, can be irrational at times.

Her brazenness can be taken as rudeness at times but she is simply uncomfortable with misunderstandings. Addison is by no means a do-gooder but is very fixated on morals. She doesn't care if the other person has the most despicable morals. She will respect them simply for being honest about them.

It is perhaps a side effect of her powers, but Addison is able to adapt well to changing climates, atmospheres and people.

History: Addison's family migrated to the UK from China during the rise of communism. Her parents were born and raised entirely in the UK and up to age of 14, Addison had not once visited China. She heard many stories about it from her grandparents but her parents were generally non-committal. They were fixated on Addison beginning a new life in the UK. Whenever she ventured to ask something about her heritage, they would at once shoot it down - stating that she had a British passport and so, had no reason to ask about a country that had never been hers.

This attitude infuriated her but it also led her to believe that their move from China to the UK had not been just because of communism. Addison based this entirely off speculation since at that time, she was nearing the age of 8 and so had little knowledge of what communism really was.

Addison had an enjoyable enough childhood, spending most of her time playing out in the yard with her little brother. Her parents were hard workers and living in that kind of environment demanded that she be the same. Addison learned English as a child but nothing about Chinese. Her parents were adamant about her gaining knowledge about any and all subjects and working extremely hard. In addition to sending her to a private school, they also taught her at home. By the time she was 10, she had enough knowledge to rival a tenth grader's. Addison easily excelled at school.

She skipped three grades and finished school at the age of fifteen. Her student years were a bit surreal for her. Addison had never believed that studying could be so easy, especially as she looked at the students around her. But her parents were determined and devoted and so, she sailed through all her classes without needing incredible intelligence. Her time at school made her place more trust in her parents.

Having finished school, Addison was desperate to learn something about China and so, after months of pleading, her parents agreed to let her learn how to fight - and they were nothing, if not detailed. Instead of the usual karate or tae-kwon-do, they found someone to teach her Leopard Kung Fu. This style was spectacularly suited to her light body weight, small size and natural speed. This style did not bring blocking into play, nor did it give much importance to rooted stances. Both well suited to Addison, as she could easily be swept off her feet. Leopard Kung Fu is more of a hit-and-run concept, relying primarily on muscle speed to enhance strength and the leopard punch, which is a sort of half-opened fist.

Addison was naturally speedy but her fighting approach enhanced this speed to the point where it was nearly impossible to catch her, much less touch her. But she was a reckless fighter and could easily be disabled with a sharp jab to her neck or legs. Before she could improve though, catastrophe struck everywhere and by a cruel twist of fate, Addison was separated from her family. She tried to seek them out but the resounding chaos everywhere made that impossible. Before she could do anything more, the spirits began to emerge. Addison went into hiding, cleanly separating herself from other people's company - keeping herself inconspicuous but also lacking the safety of a large group. She hid for months in the basement of a dilapidated house and then came to hear that China had fallen.

Addison began to travel, stealing supplies as she went. She made it out of the UK and headed toward China. Separated from her family and exhausted, she had no sense of purpose. She knew that it could take months - years even - to reach China and so, she headed that way to distract herself from the despair that was quickly growing inside of her. It was perhaps this uncharacteristic burst of emotions that first unlocked Addison's powers.

Addison made her way to the French mainland, travelling north towards Germany, through Denmark, Sweden, Finland and into Russia. Ignorant to the fact that Russia had already been conquered by the spirits, she is currently stuck there and is sluggishly making her way south towards China.

Role-Play Sample:
Addison watched silently as the girl fiddled with a spoon and stared out the window and for once, she didn't feel like the one out of place. She lightly tapped the menu on the table, glanced around the bakery and sat back into her chair. She still wasn't sure if the girl had any discernible purpose for being there, other than hiding from her sister and so, decided that it was unclear as to how long she intended to say. So, throwing a glance over her shoulder, she signaled to a waiter.

It was only once the waiter had set down two glasses of orange juice in front of them that Addison noticed that the girl was slumping into her seat. She pushed one of the glasses toward her. "Makes for a better cover." Addison said even though she half-hoped that the girl would just take it and go away. Addison smiled a little at her next words, taking a small sip from her juice. "Neurotic..." she echoed. Addison wanted to warn her that if she was trying to escape from a neurotic sister then, she'd ended up next to the wrong person but decided not to. She had a feeling that the girl meant neurotic in another sense and since most of Addison's neurotic tendencies were directed at herself, she didn't think that the blonde across from her had much to worry about.

"You're welcome." Addison said, glancing out the window as she took another sip from her juice.

Ability: Power Mimicry
Description: Addison’s ability, while incredibly extensive is at the same time somewhat limiting. Where channeling other people’s powers is an advantage, it also puts her at the disadvantage as she is not always familiar with the principles of a certain ability. Other times, she may not be in the best shape, physically, to harness that power to its fullest extent. More often than not, her opponent knows best how to use their own powers and can use their greater experience to combat her powers. Other times, though, shooting back the same thing that opponents use against her may surprise them. During battle, she has to be extremely watchful of her opponent. She has to attack and defend while simultaneously noticing just how it is that her opponent harnesses their ability. Considering the extent of Addison’s travels though, she has come across nearly all kinds of strange beings and so is familiar with most abilities.

Level 1 --- In the initial stages of her powers, Addison’s ability to channel a person’s abilities was unstable and required for her to make physical contact with a person. Often times, she would brush against someone and pick up an ability without even realizing it. At this point, Addison could only fumble with an ability for a few minutes before the person vanished from her reach and effectively disabled her power over their ability.

Level 2 --- It took Addison a while to realize but the more time she spent in close proximity to a person with abilities, the stronger her mastery over it grew. For instance, being in the presence of a pyrokinetic for an hour would enable her to create large bursts of fire. However, being in its presence for two days would ensure that she would slowly pick up, not only the basics, but the techniques which the person used to harness the fire. That is, she would be able to strengthen her bursts and/or meld the fire into different shapes. This, however depended largely on the duration of the contact which initially granted her the ability.

Level 3 --- By this time, Addison was able to effectively mimic a person’s abilities on her own. Her subconscious would automatically pick up any particularly noticeable abilities in the vicinity and then, she could decide whether she wanted to mimic it or not. More often than not, Addison took what she could get - using her speed to her advantage. She further realized that the reach and duration too, had extended. If she was in the presence of a pyrokinetic for two days, her powers would slowly ebb away the more the distance grew - instead of vanishing altogether, like they previously had. Most times, Addison’s absorbed powers lasted for roughly the same duration that she had been exposed to it herself.

Level 4 --- Recently, Addison has come to notice that she can pick up on a person’s powers even when she is not touching them. Her reach has steadily been increasing - to the point where she could be nearly a mile away from a town and could feel a new power festering, only to find the actual source when she reached the town. This new aspect, however, greatly downplayed the strength of her new ability. Addison also came to realize that instead of the duration increasing, her mastery over the given ability slowly began to increase, to the point where she was easily able to pick up on the basic techniques if she was exposed to the source for long enough. During battle, the duration will continue to be renewed as long as she stays within close proximity of her opponent and makes physical contact in order to boost her powers. Even if she is being defeated, she will steadily be gaining knowledge of her opponent’s techniques, simply because they are using their abilities.

The downside, however, is that the longer she holds onto one ability, the longer it will take for her to warm up to the next one to which she is exposed.

Level 5 ---

• Addison’s reach will gradually increase.
  
• The duration will be renewed just as before, but the longer the exposure, the stronger her powers will get and the more her subconscious will pick up on techniques.

Level 6 ---

• Addison’s reach will increase almost exponentially.
  
• Physical contact will be a negligible factor.
  
• The duration will increase, even if she is not within close proximity of the source.
  
• She will be able to pick up on techniques, quickly and more efficiently.

Level 7 ---

• The more she is exposed to abilities, the quicker she will be able to adapt to them - regardless of how long she has been holding onto the previous one.
  
• Her power will allow her to easily familiarize herself with basics and advanced techniques, allowing her to apply her knowledge of other abilities and outsmart her opponent.

Level 8 ---

• The time factor - that is, how long she holds onto one ability - will become negligible. As her own powers mature, she will be able to adapt more and more swiftly, to the point where she will be able to sift through several people’s abilities and use them, even if they are not present.
  
• She will easily pick up on advanced techniques.
  
• Distance will no longer bar her from using a technique. If she has used it once before, than a part of her already knows it and all she has to do to use it, is to recall the person and techniques associated with the given power.

Access: It is open for anyone to use but the level of progress may differ greatly, depending on one's knowledge of ability and their experience. Addison also has the advantage of knowing a martial arts form, which is a key factor in her ability to adapt to a power. Another advantage Addison has is that she is extremely quick and so is easily able to brush against someone without them noticing.

Although I would like to suggest that, for the members' convenience, you go through a list of supernatural abilities and make the Banned Abilities list conclusive. Just a suggestion =)

I'm assuming that power mimicry is allowed..?

The Banned Abilities can be added on to seeing as how we can not add every single thing off the top of our heads. Reading minds is just stupidly OP anyway.

Power mimicry might be okay depending on how you restrict it and how you obtain their abilities, how long it lasts, how it progresses with each level, etc.

Um, by studying a list, you're not banning things off the top of your head, you're actually considering them. No offense, dude, but I mentioned several times that Addison always uses distraction techniques during battle, thereby neglecting to use mind-reading to combat someone.

Whatever you say. Mind reading is just OP and the way you set up levels was just terrible. Reading minds at level 1? Wiping memories at level 2?

Seriously. And I don't care how you would use it or if you would use it. It was still OP.

I'd like that your ability require that you make physical contact with the person with the abilities in order to mimic them.

Edited to include physical contact up to Level 5. I also reduced the physical contact at Level 4, because if the powers are about to peak at this point, Addison only needs physical contact to constantly refresh the given ability and make it stronger each time.
